The start of change, revitalizing a community, forming partnerships, transforming a city, creating a building, and doing anything of significance in business or real estate development starts with the cornerstone.

Leonard Burke, CCIM

Managing Partner

Leonard Burke is a seasoned executive in commercial real estate development and asset management and through his experience and success founded Cornerstone Strategic Partners.

Previously, he served as the Director of Asset Management for Beneficial Communities. Responsible for managing the operations of a nationwide portfolio of affordable, mixed-income and market housing.

Prior to his time at Beneficial, Leonard served as Director of Asset Management for Tampa Housing Authority, overseeing and developing a portfolio of 4,589 residential units consisting of market rate, mixed-income and affordable units, as well as mixed-use developments.

Leonard Burke has been recognized as an industry leader and received numerous awards over the years. He was named the Top 40 under 40 professional by the Tampa Bay Business Journal and Business Observer, and People on the move spotlight. In addition, Mr. Burke was selected to participate in a Urban Land Iinstitute’s Tampa Bay Technical Assistance Panel (TAP).

Of all the professional achievements, Leonard Burke is most known for his charitable work in the community. Leonard actively donates his time and resources in helping at-risk and inner city youth uncover their true worth in life. He mentors several young men, conducts motivation speeches at local Title 1 schools. 

Leonard has been a guest lecturer for the University of South Florida, Florida Redevelopment Association, and Urban Land Institute.

Leonard serves on the Executive Committee and Multi-family product council for the Urban Land Institute of Tampa Bay, National Audit Committee for AMIKids, Board of Director for Junior Achievement, a non-profit organization supporting financial literacy for elementary/middle school students in Tampa Bay.

Leonard received his Bachelor of Finance degree from the University of South Florida. He also received his certified commercial investment member (CCIM) designation from the National Association of Realtors.
